A fire broke out at the BRD Hospital in Gorakhpur on Tuesday morning.
There is a high possibility that crucial files related to the recent case of children's deaths due to lack of oxygen supply may have been being destroyed.
The BRD Medical College had hit the headlines in August last year when 63 children, including infants, died within a span of four days when the supply of oxygen was disrupted due to non-payment of dues to the vendor.
The hospital, that had been marred by controversies over depleting healthcare, was gutted in fire.
The fire gutted the principal's office situated at the hospital premises. Fire tenders have been pressed into service to control the blaze. The cause of the fire is not known yet.
